1) The student speaks with our administrator to organize a consultation with the director.
2) The student meets with the director (live or online) for a consultation.
3) The director assesses the student's English comprehension and communication skills in order for the student to be placed in the appropriate class. 
4.a) The student can try out the first lesson before committing to the semester

1) Polaznik razgovara s našom administratoricom koja će organizirati inicijalne konzulacije s našom direktoricom.
2) Polaznik odrađuje konzultacije uživo ili online.
3) Direktorica ocjenjuje polaznikovo razumijevanje engleskog jezika te komunikacijske vještine kako bi polaznika mogli smjestiti u odgovarajući tečaj.
4.a) Ako se radi o grupnom tečaju i ako je moguće, polaznik može isprobati prvi sat prije upisa.

What are the teaching styles and methods? | Kojim stilovima i metodama poučavanja trebaju podučavati predavači škole stranog jezika?

Accepted Answer

Our school uses the CAFE method (Comprehension, Accuracy, Fluency, and Expanding Vocabulary) by Gail Boushey and Joan Moser  to assess and express what we focus on while teaching literacy and communication in English.
During each lesson, we focus on every aspect of grammar through reading out loud, speaking and writing. Our focus is to develop the student holistically as they progress on  their educational journey.
We also incorporate project-based learning for those who learn best through projects on personal interests, as well as conversational group courses, and writing/preparation courses.
Each instructor has English teaching experience, and the instructors’ educational backgrounds ensure that they can connect with students on a variety of topics.

Američki institut se koristi CAFE metodom osmišljenom od strane Gail Boushey i Joan Moser (Comprehension, Accuracy, Fluency, and Expanding Vocabulary). Tijekom svake lekcije fokusiramo se na sve aspekte gramatike kroz čitanje na glas, govor i pisanje. Želimo se koncentrirati na holistički pristup u učenju svakog od naših polaznika.

Također, u svom se radu koristimo s PBL (Project Based Learning), učenju kroz projekte za sve oni koji nove sadržaje najbolje usvajaju kroz rad na projektima, osobnim interesima, konverzacijskim grupama, te tečajevima pripreme i pisanja. Svaki od naših instruktora ima puno iskustva u poduci, uz neku vrstu obrazovne pozadine u ostalim područjima.

What are some rules students should know before starting? | Koja su pravila pohađanja nastave?

Accepted Answer

1) We do not give homework to adults unless they ask for it.
2) Plagiarism is not accepted in our school. Students are asked to produce their own written work. It does not benefit anyone if the student does not write their own work.
3) We must respect time and space for those in a group class. If a student needs to move online, we need 12-24 hours notice to make sure those in the class can adjust as well.
4) We follow proper COVID-19 safety measures: our school follows strict protocols when it comes to safety and cleanliness, and it is mandatory for those who enter our school to follow the measures.
5) We do not tolerate abuse of any kind.
1) Naši odrasli polaznici ne dobijaju domaće zadaće u svojim tečajevima, osim ako ih ne zatraže. Domaće zadaće ne dajemo automatski.
2) Plagiranje nije dozvoljeno u našoj školi. Kada zamolimo naše polaznike da nešto napišu, očekujemo da će napisano biti njihov rad. Nitko ne profitira od prepisanih radova.
3) Molimo sve polaznike da poštuju prostor u kojem se nalaze i vrijeme koje smo alocirali za njih. Primjera radi, ako polaznik mora preći na online model nastave, molimo da nam to javite barem 24 sata ranije kako bi mogli sve dogovoriti i kako bi proces prelaska online mogao proći nesmetano.
4) Molimo pridržavanje epidemioloških mjera: naša škola se drži preporučenih protokola što se tiče zdravstvenih mjera i čistoće. Obaveza svih polaznika je pridržavanje tih pravila.
5) U školi nije dozvoljeno vrjieđanje ili maltretiranje bilo koje vrste prema bilo kome od polaznika ili djelatnika
